The incredibly cute-looking isekai fantasy anime series There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her got an adorable key visual today, and a premiere date.
Adorable because, yep, I think I am going to be a big fan of protagonist Cecilia, and the other equally cute looking characters.
And a premiere date that has There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party dropping its first episode on January 6th, 2026.
The new visual has Cecilia front and center, while newly iskekai-d protagonist, Youki, follows on behind his new beloved.
In the background, a cheerful Yuga waves at the pair, while Mikana and Raven look on.

New There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her cast announced
Two new cast members were also announced today.
They are Iori Noguchi (Aragaki in Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 2) who is voicing harpy Happiness, and Ayumu Murase (Luck in Black Clover) as knight commander Raven.
They join previously announced Kana Hanazawa (Mashiro in Detectives These Days Are Crazy!) who voices Cecilia, Kouhei Amasaki (Will in Wistoria: Wand and Sword) who is playing Youki, and Minami Tanaka (Nina in Nina the Starry Bride) as Seek.
Toshiki Masuda (Liu Fengmang in donghua The All-devouring Whale: Homecoming) as Duke, Yuko Natsuyoshi (Nana in A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace) as Mikana, and Ryouhei Kimura (Shinsuke in Sengoku Youko) as Yuga are also already in the cast.
There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her production details
The isekai comedy romance series is based on the light novel series written by Suisei and illustrated by La-na. A series that has three volumes out in Japanese, but none in English as of yet.
As for the fantasy anime’s production details, they’re pretty decent too.
Tomonori Mine (Isekai Onsen Paradise) is directing, with Yukie Sugawara (Tougen Anki) in charge of series composition, and Mina Osawa (Dad is a Hero, Mom is a Spirit, and I’m a Reincarnator) is designing the cute characters.
Plot-wise, it doesn’t sound like There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party is anything to write home about but… if isekai is your thing (and it’s absolutely mine!), this one looks adorably fun:
Youki is reincarnated in another world. However, he is neither a hero nor a demon king, but a demon in a rather awkward position: a subordinate of the demon king. One day, a party of heroes attacks the demon king’s castle in order to defeat the demon king. Naturally, Youki fights against the heroes.
However, he falls in love at first sight with the enemy, a priestess named Cecilia
