A final poster featuring our favorite couple Jiang Yuan and Shao Yue is out for donghua ‘Aliens Among Immortals‘ as the 60-episode first season ends its run soon.
But, if you have been enjoying this one as much as I have, you shouldn’t be too disappointed as the poster came with a message suggesting there will be future seasons of the Chinese animated series:
“The donghua’s final poster has been released! It wraps up today. Flying confetti to celebrate the ending! Thank you all for your continued support!
But the story of Jiang Yuan and Shao Yue, the couple, is far from over. The journey through the martial world is long. So, until we meet again! Don’t forget to keep track of the series as it continues!”
Let’s just say then that my fingers are crossed that we’ll be getting a continuation of the story soon. Aren’t yours?
After all this has been a fun one right from its crazy first episode and, for me at least, it’s always nice to have a decent donghua with shorter episodes to go to when you have a quick break.
Aliens Among Immortals production details
The 60-episode donghua is animated by Suoyi Technology (who also animates Spy x Sect, One Hundred Thousand Years of Qi Refining and Against the Sky Supreme), and produced by Bilibili.
Bilibili describes its quite complicated plot in this way:
Forced into a marriage of convenience based on mutual benefit, Jiang Yuan, an assassin from the Tai Xuan Tower, and Shao Yue, the holy maiden of the Jiu Xuan Sect, are ordered to marry.
On their wedding night, they attempt an assassination, only to discover they are both immortal. To obtain the Demon-Suppressing Bell and the Demon-Controlling Bell, secret treasures of each other’s sects, they transform from mortal enemies into a facade of marriage, engaging in a charade of mutual deception.
However, neither is aware that the other is also an alien survivor whose home was destroyed by the “Void.”
This destined couple forms an alliance amidst suspicion and testing, not only searching for the treasures transformed from a lost spaceship but also confronting the ever-watchful cultivation world, seeking hope to defeat the “Void” amidst perilous circumstances.
