I am always thrilled when the superb voice actress Sora Amamiya grabs another part.
This week, it’s the Summer, 2026 isekai fantasy anime From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage that has added acclaimed voice actress Sora Amamiya to its cast roster. Yay!
Official accounts for the series announced on August 13th, 2026, that Amamiya will voice Tatiana, the older sister of the heroine Anastasia, while the anime’s X account also released a character visual.
Tatiana herself is set to debut in Episode 8, which is scheduled to air today.
Of course, if you know anything about Sora Amimya, you will know it’s not just voice acting that the popular Amamiya will bring to the production either.
That’s because in addition to her new acting role, she is already part of the series’ soundtrack as a member of the voice actress unit TrySail, which is performing the ending theme “Dōkei” .

A second chance at mastery for protagonist Ephtal – what is the From Overshadowed to Overpowered plot about?
From Overshadowed to Overpowered follows Ephtal, a great sage who spent a lifetime pursuing the heights of magic only to die in despair, convinced of his own lack of talent.
Four hundred years later he is reborn with his memories and power intact into a world where magical civilization has declined and ancient techniques are regarded as miracles. Determined to reclaim the true art of sorcery, he enrolls in a prestigious magic academy and begins upending its conventions.
The story began as a web novel written by Arata Shiraishi on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2018 before receiving a print light-novel edition from Kadokawa (illustrated by Uodenim).
Kentarou’s manga adaptation, which the anime primarily follows, began serialization on Square Enix’s Manga UP! in September 2019 and has reached at nine volumes in Japan.
The television anime, produced by EMT Squared, premiered with early streaming on June 25th, 2026, followed by a television broadcast starting July 1–2 on Tokyo MX and other networks.
Crunchyroll carries the series with simulcast availability.
As for its staff, Hisashi Ishii (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear) directs, Deko Akao handles series composition, Hideki Furukawa designs the characters, and Takaaki Nakahashi composes the music.
The opening theme “+Encount” is performed by the rock band FLOW.
Other cast members Sora Amamiya will be joining
Core cast members for the fantasy anime include Shūichirō Umeda as protagonist Ephtal, Reo Osanai as Anastasia, and Haruka Shiraishi as Marlin, the academy headmaster and a figure from Ephtal’s past.
Additional voices announced earlier feature Hiroki Tōchi and Ayaka Fukuhara sharing earlier incarnations of Ephtal, Emiri Katō as Iria, and Daisuke Hirakawa as Fraser.
Sora Amamiya’s Rising Profile
As for Sora Amamiya’s background, the extremely talented Japanese voice actress was born August 28th, 1993, in Tokyo, and debuted as a voice actress in 2012 after passing a Music Ray’n audition alongside future TrySail bandmates Momo Asakura and Shiina Natsukawa.
She quickly established herself soon after with a string of prominent roles beginning in 2014, including Kaori Fujimiya in One Week Friends, Akame in Akame ga Kill!, Touka Kirishima in Tokyo Ghoul, Asseylum Vers Allusia in Aldnoah.Zero, and Elizabeth Liones in The Seven Deadly Sins.
She is widely recognized for playing the comedic goddess Aqua in KonoSuba – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! and the more grounded Chizuru Ichinose in Rent-a-Girlfriend.
In 2015 she shared the Best Rookie Actress award at the 9th Seiyū Awards.
Beyond acting, Amamiya maintains an active music career both as a solo artist and with TrySail.
The unit has released multiple singles and albums, frequently contributing anime theme songs. Her casting as Tatiana therefore marks a natural extension of her existing involvement with the series’ ending track.
With Tatiana’s introduction in episode 8 of From Overshadowed to Overpowered, the what-I-think is an excellent fantasy anime expands its supporting cast at a midpoint in its run.
The addition of a high-profile talent like Amamiya underscores the production’s growing momentum as Ephtal continues his quest to restore true magic in a diminished world.
