JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Culling Game Part 1 gets January 9th premiere
With the compilation film JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Movie – Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game premiering in Japan today, it’s also apparently time for the official accounts for the anime franchise to announce the premiere date for Season 3.
And yes, the JUJUTSU KAISEN, Season 3 premiere date is earlier (thankfully) than some of us may have expected, with the first episode scheduled to drop on January 9th, 2026 (so-called January 8th in Japan).
Along with that announcement, animation studio MAPPA has also released a cool high-energy visual of Yuji and Yuta fighting.
In it we see the pair high up in the air, with Yuta crouched on top of Yuji and thrusting a sword down towards him, as Yuji grabs the blade with his hand but with an incredibly pained look on his face.

The anime’s official X account also commented about the battle:
A deadly battle between two people who share the same teacher And then the “death tour” begins…
Season 3 of JUJUTSU KAISEN (aka Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1) is animating the The Culling Game arc.
(Additional info: The compilation film JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Movie – Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game is now in Japanese theaters.
And I have it on good authority from JUJUTSU KAISEN-obsessed friends who just got back from the theater, while many of the scenes look “awesome” and the battles are “brilliant” on a massive screen, the film itself is pretty short and, in their opinion, “not worth the admission price”.

Not unless you want to see your favorite characters 30 feet high, are a die-hard fan and want to see everything this franchise puts out, or are desperate to get a jump on the first two episodes of the Culling Game arc. So now you know).
Crunchyroll streaming JUJUTSU KAISEN, Season 3
Season 3 is again directed by Shouta Goshozono, with Hiroshi Seko also back in charge of scripts and series composition, and Hiromi Niwa and Yusuke Yajima in charge of character design.
Like we all expected, Crunchyroll has also confirmed they will be streaming the third season of the supernatural action anime, just like they stream every other property in the hit Japanese franchise.
The most recent Season 3 teaser trailers dropped a couple of weeks ago. Check them out.
