In another ridiculously long titled Japanese anime series, the soon to release fantasy romance anime The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power: Forget My Sister! Turns Out I Was the Real Saint All Along! has dropped its first teaser trailer and a new key visual today.
The preview trailer confirms that the series is scheduled to premiere in 2026, building momentum for one of the newer light-novel adaptations on the horizon.
A first look at The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power
The newly revealed teaser trailer focuses on heroine Carolina and the gentle yet magical tone of the story.
While brief, the footage highlights the series’ romantic fantasy atmosphere and hints at the protagonist’s overwhelming hidden abilities.
Powers Carolina herself doesn’t know she has, but that may surpass those of her powerful but obnoxious sister.
Meanwhile, the fantasy anime’s latest key visual shows Carolina bending down in the garden to admire a plethora of beautiful pink flowers, while her new fiancé Edward Ruby Martinez, “the Bloodthirsty Prince” looks on indulgently.
Cast and Characters
The teaser also confirms key voice casting. Those voice actors are:
- Rie Takahashi as Carolina Ruby Martinez
- Makoto Furukawa who plays Edward Ruby Martinez
- Haruka Shiraishi as Flora Sanchez
All three voice actors are well known within the anime industry, with Rie Takahashi known for roles like Emilia in Re: Zero, Makoto Furukawa famous for voicing Saitama in One Punch Man, and Haruka Shiraishi voicing characters like Asirpa in Golden Kamuy.
According to official releases, the anime is being directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani (director of The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids), with series composition by Touko Machida and music by Supa Love.
Studios Magic Bus and Picante Circus are animating.
The production team’s involvement signals a fairly traditional light-novel adaptation approach, leaning into character drama and fantasy court intrigue.
The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power story overview
The anime adapts the romantic fantasy light novel written by Almond.
The story centers on two noble sisters: the beautiful Flora, widely believed to be the destined saint, and the overlooked Carolina.
However, after political circumstances push Carolina into marriage with a feared prince, the truth emerges. She is actually the one possessing extraordinary holy power.
The series blends court romance, mistaken identity, and slow-burn character growth, a combination that has proven popular among recent light-novel adaptations.
From popular web novel to anime adaptation
Originally serialized on the user-generated fiction site Shōsetsuka ni Narō between 2020 and 2023, The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power later received a light-novel release from Earth Star Entertainment and a manga adaptation.
The franchise’s steady expansion across formats helped pave the way for the current TV anime project announced in 2025.
