The upcoming anime adaptation of the hit manga Let’s Go Kaikigumi has just announced two new voice actors joining its ensemble cast.
Set to premiere sometime in 2026, this supernatural comedy series promises a blend of spooky encounters and hilarious mishaps, centered on a hapless un-named protagonist who is extraordinarily sensitive to paranormal activity. Six times more than the average person apparently.
After crossing paths with the enigmatic Mechako, he finds himself entangled in efforts to revive the Kaikigumi, a group dedicated to regulating mischievous ghosts and monsters, leading to a string of bizarre adventures.
The Let’s Go Kaikigumi anime adaptation
Originally created by Byuu (also known as View) and published by Shogakukan Creative, the manga has already amassed five volumes, captivating readers with its unique mix of horror elements and lighthearted humor.
The anime, produced by C-Station (Yuru Camp), is under the direction of Yutaka Hirata (Episode Director for Golden Kamuy), with Mutsumi Ito (Yuru Camp and Heya Camp) handling series composition and scriptwriting.
Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Hakyu Hoshin Engi) is responsible for the character designs, likely ensuring the visuals capture the manga’s quirky style.

Meet the new additions to the Let’s Go Kaikigumi cast
The latest reveal introduces characters that add even more intrigue and comedy to the story, voiced by talented performers with impressive resumes in the anime world.
They are:
Yoshino Aoyama as Shurako: Shurako is Mechako’s scheming cousin, always hatching plans to usurp control of the Kaikigumi. Her ambitious and mischievous nature is sure to bring plenty of conflict and laughs to the series.
As for Aoyama, she is known for her versatile performances, previously bringing to life the introverted guitarist Hitori Goto in the music-centric BOCCHI THE ROCK! and the endearing Miwa Mikadono in Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze.
Her ability to portray awkward yet determined characters makes her a perfect fit for Shurako’s conniving antics.

In addition, Yuki Sakakihara is Doppelganger: This eerie entity has the power to imitate any human appearance, with a chilling twist—legend has it that witnessing your own doppelganger spells doom. Doppelganger’s role promises to amp up the supernatural tension while delivering comedic moments through its shape-shifting escapades.
Sakakihara has shone in roles like the enigmatic Polka Shinoyama in the action-packed Dead Mount Death Play and Jushi Aimono in the rhythmic battles of HYPNOSISMIC -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima, as well as Lize in the newly-released Champignon Witch.
His experience with mysterious and intense characters will undoubtedly enhance Doppelganger’s otherworldly presence.

New character visuals for Shurako and Doppelganger have also been unveiled (see above), showcasing their distinctive designs that align with the manga’s whimsical yet spooky aesthetic.
These newcomers join an already solid main cast:
Tasuku Hatanaka lends his voice to the unnamed Protagonist, capturing the everyman’s reluctant dive into the world of the occult.
Ruriko Aoki stars as Mechako, the mysterious girl leading the charge to rebuild the Kaikigumi.
Veteran Shigeru Chiba provides narration, adding a layer of wry commentary to the unfolding chaos.
In other words, with this expanded lineup, Let’s Go Kaikigumi is shaping up to be a standout entry in the 2026 anime lineup, appealing to fans of ghost-hunting tales with a comedic edge.
As production progresses, keep an eye out for more teasers and updates, as this series is poised to deliver thrills, chills, and plenty of giggles.
