Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon gets vibrant visual, 5 cast members and premiere date confirmed

More news has been released for the upcoming fantasy action anime Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, including its premiere date confirmed — October 3rd.
The anime, which features the impossibly long title of Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: My Trusted Companions Tried to Kill Me, but Thanks to the Gift of an Unlimited Gacha I Got LVL 9999 Friends and Am Out for Revenge on My Former Party Members and the World, also dropped a vibrant new visual of all of its main characters (below), and announced the names of five new cast members.
The anime’s latest visual, which came out via the official Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon X account, arrived with a comment about its plot:
“A revenge saga that will shake the world, begins—!”
New voice actors join Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon cast
Along with the visual and the premiere date, the anime also announced five new cast members. They are:
- Hana Hishikawa (Minami in The Shiunji Family Children) is voicing Nazuna
- Shiori Izawa (Ryuu-chan in A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life) as Aoyuki
- Ayumi Mano (Bridget in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) who plays Eri
- Yuuko Natsuyoshi (Sasha in The Misfit of Demon King Academy) voices Nemumu
- Katsuya Miyamoto (Shin in School Rumble) as Gold

The anime is adapted from the light novel series written by Shisui Meikyō and illustrated by tef.
It is being directed by Katsushi Sakurabi (Flying Witch), with Hiroshi Onogi (Blue Archive: The Animation) in charge of both scripts and series composition, and Yukie Suzuki (Tsukimichi – Moonlit Fantasy) designing the characters.

Its plot is described by the light novel’s first volume like this:
In a world where humans are treated as an inferior species, Light, a human boy who worked as a porter for the adventurer party “Gathering of the Races,” is sentenced to banishment deep within the world’s deadliest dungeon, “Hell,” and his life is threatened.
In order to survive in “Hell,” Light desperately uses his only skill, “Infinite Gacha.” In response, he is summoned to a team of overwhelmingly powerful “Level 9999” companions!
Three years have passed since then.
Now at Level 9999 himself, Light is attracted to the affections of beautiful girls (all of whom are Level 9999) who pledge their loyalty to him, and with his overwhelming power, he begins his rapid advance onto the surface world!
