100,000 Years of Qi Refining Ep 180 recap – The Emperor of Hundreds of Regions meets Chaofeng

Is it just me, or did 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 180 end really really fast?
Then again, much of the latest episode of the martial arts donghua did feature “Senior Sister”, the former Tianlan Sect member who was expelled thousands of years ago, and has now found her way back to the sect to exact her revenge.
And, damn, she’s cool.
In Episode 180, though, things didn’t quite turn out the way we expected. Or maybe you did expect it, if you watched the previous two episodes of the donghua as closely as I did.
Let’s recap 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 180 then, and see if you saw what I saw coming last week.
Events of 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 180
The latest episode kicks off with “Senior Sister” (aka Chaofeng) still at Tianlan Sect, and apparently making herself useful as she sweeps the dead leaves up from the ground around the sect’s main square.
Remember, she arrived at the sect a few days ago with the goal of killing every Tianlan Sect member, but got caught up with the kids, and free food, and everyone being nice to her. So that killing had to wait.
But, as she keeps telling herself, she’s just putting the massacre off until the right moment and, today, she has decided she will just wait for all the sect’s disciples to return, then kill them all at once.
That thought gets interrupted, however, when The Emperor of Hundreds of Regions arrives in his flying boat with the aim of killing everyone in the sect.
The problem is, his stupid son gives up that secret to Chaofeng, who immediately becomes angry, kills the son, destroys the flying boat, and then makes The Emperor himself grovel on the ground before she kills him as well.
Not that she’s protecting the sect, you understand. She just doesn’t want The Emperor taking away her killing fields.
Back to her sweeping and, a few minutes later, Uncle Huo arrives after having taken three days to get out of the trap she set him when they first came across each other in the Universe.
Seeing all the flames and debris around her, Uncle Huo immediately assumes she killed every Tianlan Sect member. Chaofeng lies to him, and says she has.
After a huge battle ensues, in which Chaofeng admits that, while he can’t kill her, she can’t kill him either, the pair get shouted in to eat.
It’s then Uncle Huo realizes the Tianlan sect members are still alive, so he follows Chaofeng in for lunch while giving her compliments.
Chaofeng replies that, if the sect turns out to be just as bad as the Tianlan members who expelled her thousands of years ago, she will kill them all.
Uncle Huo replies, “No, they’re not like that at all”.
Xu Yang and Chief Manying investigate The Great Flower God Tomb
Back with Xu Yang and Chief Manying, who are now in The Great Flower God Tomb, and Manying gets side-tracked by a beautiful plant and almost gets killed, until Ancestor Xu stops the plant in its tracks and warns her that they’re dangerous.
Xu, though, is bemused as the plant — an Immortal Grass — is unique to the Tianlan Sect, so it should not be in The Great Flower God’s Tomb.
Hundreds of extinct plants then suddenly appear, amazing Manying, who knows it should not be this easy to find them.
She then wants to know, “Is The Great Flower God Tomb” the tomb of a Tianlan disciple?
At the tomb itself, everything is rundown and dilapidated and there isn’t a treasure or a promised grand army in sight.
But, as Xu Yang activates his power around the area explaining that what they can see is just camouflage, a golden light appears with a young woman sitting in it.
100,000 Years of Qi Refining, Episode 180 ends as Xu Yang asks “A Tianlan disciple?”
Like always, the latest episode of 100,000 Years of Qi Refining, features the same dry humor, the same crazy powerful battles, and the same Xu Yang showing he can control anything at all that we love.
And now we have to wait till next week to find out who the woman sitting in the golden circle is, and what she means to Xu Yang and the Tianlan Sect.
Episode 181 will premiere on Tuesday, November 5th. I can’t wait!
