While you would think Monogatari Series‘ protagonist Koyomi Araragi would get a character video before anyone else, that is not the case.
Instead, the ongoing Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season released videos for most of the main girls in the series before him — proving “ladies first” seems to be the mantra over at production studio Shaft.
This week, however, we finally have a Koyomi Araragi character video featuring a monologue from the part human part vampire third year high school student talking about how he isn’t special, and he may not have been chosen, but you can’t be him. Only he can be him.
Koyomi goes on to say he doesn’t need to be liked, and doesn’t mind if he is hated, all he needs to be is strong so he can protect those that depend on him.
They can then protect him in return.
Watch the new Koyomi Araragi character video down below. It features the voice of actor Hiroshi Kamiya, who has superbly played Koyomi from the very beginning.
Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season details
The ongoing vampire-themed supernatural anime Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season is being directed by Midori Yoshizawa (episode director of various Monogatari seasons), with Akiyuki Shinbou, long-time Monogatari director, serving as chief director.
Shinbou is also in charge of series composition alongside Fuyashi Tou (several Monogatari seasons and March Comes in Like a Lion).
Akio Watanabe is back as both character designer and chief animation director.
Studio Shaft is in charge of anime production again.
Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
