The just released Tokyo 7th Sisters anime trailer is not only a welcome sight, considering the 77-minute film’s planned summer premiere was postponed due to the Covid-19 panic around the world, but it is even cooler as it features the cutest girls.
The trailer also came with a second Tokyo 7th Sisters key visual today that is just as bright, colorful and adorable, and with an announcement of two new cast members.
The official website for the film also announced the key visual will also be used as the film’s poster in movie theaters.
The two newly announced cast members are Tomomichi Nishimura (Full Metal Panic!) as Kōzō Hakkaku, and Toshiyuki Morikawa (Sword Art Online: Alicization) as Noriyuki Namekawa.
The Tokyo 7th Sisters: Bokura wa Aozora ni Naru (aka Tokyo 7th Sisters: We Will Be in the Blue Sky) anime film is based on the popular smart phone game by Japanese developer and publisher Donuts Co, Ltd.
The chief director of the game, Shintarō Motegi, came up with the concept for the movie, and even wrote the script and produced the music for the film.
Tokyo 7th Sisters is being directed by Takayuki Kitagawa (Episode Director on Yuyushiki and BEM), with Toei Animation (Gegege no Kitaro, World Trigger) producing.
Chief Animation Director is Yosuke Kikuchi (BEM), who is also adapting the original character designs from the game.
The voice actors from the game will also be back to reprise their roles in the anime film.
The Tokyo 7th Sisters: Bokura wa Aozora ni Naru anime film will premiere in theaters in Japan on February 26th, 2021, with a likely streaming release in the west around the same time.
