Roll Over and Die announces premiere date, OP, ED and a slew of other information
Upcoming action adventure and, yes, Girls’ Love, anime Roll Over and Die dropped its main trailer and a vibrant key visual today via the anime’s X account. The account also announced the anime’s premiere date. Some time in January, 2026.
Four new cast member were also named, along with the Roll Over and Die OP, which is called ‘Liberator‘ and is being performed by PassCode, with Yuki Tanaka’s ‘I need‘ serving as the anime’s ED.
And yes, this is another in the ever increasing series of ‘I got kicked out of the hero party’ anime, with Roll Over and Die being based on the light novel titled I Was Kicked Out of the Hero Party for Saying ‘Don’t Think a Nobody Like You Can Defeat the Demon King,’ So I Want to Live Freely in the Royal Capital.
Honestly, I think I prefer the original Japanese title, don’t you? <wink>
The Roll Over and Die key visual
A second Roll Over and Die visual was also released that features protagonists Flum and Milkit alongside witch Eterna Rinebow, and former church paladin Sara Anvilen.
Behind the girls, we can see the rest of their party, as two menacing figures loom over them.

4 new Roll Over and Die characters
The Roll Over and Die cast also got four new members. They are:
- Machico (Toukai Teiou in Uma Musume) as Sara Anvilen
- Masakazu Morita (Xin in Kingdom) voices Dein Phineas
- Honoka Inoue (Kaoruko in The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity) plays Y’lla Jelicin
- Kikuko Inoue (Wakako in A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace) as the Narrator
Three of them (not the Narrator, of course) also had their characters’ designs revealed, with their voice actors also appearing in the anime’s trailer.

The Roll Over and Die trailer
But it is in the new Roll Over and Die trailer that we see, while the anime may sound like just another fluffy ‘I got kicked out of the hero party anime’, this one actually has a very dark undercurrent.
From protagonist Flum saving now-former slave and soon-to-be love interest Milkit, to the girls and their party vowing to destroy evil, and Flum promising Milkit she will do anything it takes to fulfill all her wishes.
Yep, this one is likely to tug on the heart strings and make you cry before it’s done.
The Roll Over and Die production details
The fantasy Girls’ Love anime series is based on the light novel series ROLL OVER AND DIE: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword!!, written by kiki and illustrated by Kinta.
Its anime adaptation is being directed by Nobuhara Kamanaka (A Certain Scientific Accelerator), with Mariko Kunisawa (Mechanical Marie) in charge of series composition, and Miki Matsumoto, Fumio Matsumoto, Takashi Fukuyo and Takafumi Furusawa designing the characters.
Studio A.C.G.T. (Orient) is animating Roll Over and Die.
The first volume of the hit light novel series describes the Roll Over and Die plot like this:
Despite having zero ability scores, Flam is chosen to join the hero’s party. The only ability she possesses is a mysterious ability called “reversal.” As expected, she is completely useless in battle, but she doesn’t give up and works diligently for the party.
However, Jean, a wise man renowned as a genius, finds her annoying and continues to bully her at every opportunity, eventually forcibly selling her off to a slave trader. Flam is also mistreated by the slave trader, and to top it off, she is about to become prey to vicious monsters as entertainment.
However, the moment she gets her hands on the “Cursed Greatsword,” which melts her body into a gooey mess the moment she equips it, her life suddenly “reverses.”
Look out for Roll Over and Die premiering in January, as this one has a few plot twists that should make it different than the usual fare, don’t you think?
