New The Apothecary Diaries visual of Xiaolan, Maomao and Shisui eating dango and enjoying Spring

A new seasonal visual for The Apothecary Diaries anime has been released via the anime’s official X account today, showing firm friends Xiaolan, Maomao and Shisui sitting outside on a bench, enjoying the spring weather and eating dango.
Behind them, we can see cascades of lilac wisteria blooming.
The latest visual follows on from that of Maomao and Jinshi enjoying the cherry blossoms, and is one of a series of “seasonal visuals” that focus on seasonal plants, and that has been releasing on the 22nd of each month (National Cat Day in Japan) throughout the last year.
Look out for the next one (which features Maomao and Jinshi admiring the hydrangeas) dropping on June 22nd.
The ongoing Season 2 of The Apothecary Diaries
Although the anime is a weekly series with new episodes premiering every Friday evening, Episode 19 of second season of The Apothecary Diaries was postponed for a week until this week.
It premieres tomorrow evening at 23:45 in Japan with the episode titled “Festival“. In it, we see Maomao, who has been kidnapped, and her kidnapper Shisui at a ‘Fox Festival’.

The anime itself is being directed by Norihiko Naganuma (The Ancient Magus’ Bride). He is also in charge of series composition.
TOHO Animation and studio OLM are joint animating the series.
Just like its first season, Season 2 is currently scheduled to run for a total of 24 episodes which means, bar any more delays, its final episode should air/stream on June 27th, 2025.
