The Jong-Tama Pong cast has been announced on the TV anime short’s new official website this week, along with more staff, a promotional video and an April 1st premiere.
Jong-Tama Pong (aka Mahjong Soul Pong) is based on the Chinese mahjong game Mahjong Soul (aka Jong-Tama), and is being animated by Scooter Films.
The Jong-Tama Pong cast announced today are:
Yūki Ono (Isami Aldini in Food Wars!) as Wanjirou
Maaya Uchida (Yûki Yoshino in Food Wars!) as Ichihime
Mariya Ise (Reg in Made in Abyss) is playing Kaguyahime
Shinnosuke Tachibana (Chiaki Yoshino in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi) is voicing Hideki Akitomo
Ami Koshimizu (Kōyō Ozaki in Bungo Stray Dogs) as Yui Yagi
Hiroki Yasumoto (Mycroft Holmes in Moriarty the Patriot) as Osamu Saitou

As for the the Jong-Tama Pong staff:
Kenshirou Morii (Guraburu!) is directing, as well as in charge of script composition
Motoki Nakanishi (assistant director of Pucchimiku D4DJ Petit Mix) is assistant director
Soushi Kinutani (Anime Gataris) is character designer
Noriko Tsutsui (Soreike! Zukkoke Sanningumi) is art director
As someone who used to love playing Mahjong Soul, I am looking forward to this one as, damn, those characters are cute!
