The upcoming fantasy anime Haigakura got three new cast members and an announcement about the characters they will be voicing earlier today via the anime’s official X account.
The anime itself premieres in Fall, 2024.
The three new Haigakura cast members also got gorgeous character designs. They are:
Ryouhei Kimura (Shinsuke in Sengoku Youko) who is voicing Hiki
Ryouta Suzuki (Touma in Wind Breaker) who is playing Sanu
Kazuhiko Inoue (Madara in Natsume’s Book of Friends) is voicing Hakugou
The new action fantasy anime is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Shinobu Takayama.
There are currently 16 volumes of the manga out in Japan, although an English language translation is still forthcoming.
The manga’s anime adaptation was originally announced in August, 2023, with Junichi Yamamoto (Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion) directing, Yuu Murai (various scripts for Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion) in charge of series composition, and Masaki Satou (Record of Ragnarok) designing the characters.
Typhoon Graphics (Dahlia in Bloom) is in charge of anime production.
The plot of Haigakura goes something like this:
The story takes place in another world where there are gods. This world lays above the sky and below the ocean. Four evil gods used to support this world by acting as pillars, but they ran away including all the other minor gods that lived in this world. Thus, people called Kashikan’s appeared.
Their job is to capture the gods that fled and return stability to the country. The main character Ichiyou is a Kashikan who unwillingly took up the job to regain his foster father’s freedom. His foster father, a tiger, was captured to act as a replacement of the four gods who ran away. Ichiyou’s main objective is to recapture the evil gods and take back the peaceful life that he used to live.
