Adventures in Subduing the Demons donghua gets 5th trailer and 3 cool character posters

Chinese production company and streaming platform YOUKU has a fifth trailer out on their YouTube channel today to promote the upcoming fantasy martial arts donghua series Adventures in Subduing the Demons (aka 山海伏魔录).
Along with the trailer, the donghua’s official Weibo account also released three new Adventures in Subduing the Demons character posters.
They describe the incredibly cool character posters as being for “Protagonist Jiang Hao, the chosen young sorcerer, Yue Ji, the mysterious guardian, and Yue Ying, the staunch supporter”. (left to right and below)
They go on to ask “What kind of legendary story will they create together?”

What is the Adventures in Subduing the Demons plot?
The donghua is a YOUKU exclusive production, with the latest Adventures in Subduing the Demons trailer hinting at it being doubly interesting, considering the story takes place in both the modern day world and an ancient world where Jiang Hao suddenly finds himself fighting in epic battles of good versus evil.
YOUKU describes the fascinating Adventures in Subduing the Demons donghua plot like this:
In a vanished civilization shrouded in dust, ancient giants seek their own paths to becoming emperors. Jiang Hao, a modern young man who was once just a pawn, sets foot into the prehistoric wilderness in search of his father’s whereabouts.
Armed with his incomplete “power bank” totem, Jiang Ho battles against humans, carving out a path from primitive tribes to mysterious ancient cities.
He also battles against the land, traverses the wilderness, hunting and killing ancient fierce beasts, learning ancient and mystical totemic sorcery from their bodies, and fights against the heavens, as alien demonic light suddenly appears, threatening to engulf this magnificent land of the Six Wastelands.
But Jiang Ho defies the odds, ignites himself, turning into a sun, and fights against the celestial demons!
Unbeknownst to him, as he shakes the heavens and moves the earth, the shackles of fate have already ensnared him, while his father’s smile continues to linger.
The latest Adventures in Subduing the Demons trailer shows a dark, bleak and extremely violent world where monsters abound, and Jiang Hao and his companions are forced to continually fight for their lives.
The donghua’s animation, especially in the battle scenes, looks incredibly smooth and the world design is interesting.
Let’s see how it looks when it premieres then, right?
Adventures in Subduing the Demons is streaming exclusively on YOUKU, both in China and internationally, and is due to premiere on the streaming platform on November 11th.
