Killed Again, Mr. Detective? is a mystery series with a twist
With so many manga being adapted into anime, I am always extra happy when one of them is one I have read and can actually recommend.
Like the just announced anime adaptation of Teniwoha’s Killed Again, Mr. Detective?
Aa fun mystery romance manga that has its first volumes now being published in English by Yen Press, and one that came with a trailer today.

Killed Again, Mr. Detective? trailer
A trailer that, as you will see, proves this one is a detective story with a twist – Protagonist Sakuya Outsuki and his father, are superb private eyes, but they also share another thing in common.
When they die, they come back to life.
Something that isn’t without its traumas, obviously, but one that comes in useful if they are investigating a dangerous case.
The big difference between them, though, is that although his father suffers pain with every death just like Sakuya does, his son finds every new death incredibly upsetting as he remembers how it felt when he died.
That’s why he tries to avoid it at all costs.
The first case we see via the first Killed Again, Mr. Detective? trailer, however, is Sakyua on a luxury ocean liner where, along with the help of his assistant, Lilithea, he is investigating a cheating film director.
As you’d expect once you know the anime’s premise, the case is more dangerous than Sakuya thinks and, yep, while in a storage area looking for clues, he is promptly murdered.
Along with Sakuya’s murder, you will also hear the young detective voiced by Rikuya Yasuda (Marco in The Eminence in Shadow), with Lilithea being played by Shion Wakayama (Takina in Lycoris Recoil).
First details released for Killed Again, Mr. Detective? anime production
The mystery anime series is based on the light novel and manga written by Teniwoha and illustrated by Riichu.
It is being directed by Tales of Wedding Rings‘ director Takashi Naoya, with Mio Inoue (A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace) in charge of series composition, and Akiko Kumada (Twittering Birds Never Fly) designing the anime’s characters.
The prolific Liden Films (animators of Insomniacs After School) is animating the series.
As anime music goes, the Killed Again, Mr. Detective? soundtrack should also be decent as it’s being composed by Spy x Family OST composer Shūhei Mutsuki.
As it stands right now, Killed Again, Mr. Detective? is scheduled for a release some time in 2026. We’ll give you a more precise date when it drops. But yeah, color me excited.
