The Holy Grail of Eris Anime drops Lily Orlamunde character art – the pretty blonde girl who took her own life

Scarlett’s childhood friend gets her pretty character art
Upcoming villainess-themed anime series The Holy Grail of Eris has a January, 2026 premiere date, and that means we should be getting a slew of promo materials going forward.
One such promo piece dropped today with The Holy Grail of Eris‘ Lily Orlamunde character art coming out via the anime’s X account.
Lily is the late villainess Scarlett Castiel’s childhood friend, and is a pretty blonde and blue-eyed girl who committed suicide at the age of 16, a couple of years before the main story begins.
While you may think Lily has nothing much to do with the present day story, and so dismiss her easily, some of the anime’s plot going forward will actually occur because of Lily Orlamunde and a key she used to possess.
Lily Orlamunde is voiced by M・A・O (aka Mao Ichimichi – Shion in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime).
The Holy Grail of Eris production details
The anime adaptation of The Holy Grail of Eris was announced in October, 2024, with its initial key visual of Constance and Scarlett released.
The upcoming supernatural mystery anime is based on the original light novels (titled エリスの聖杯) written by Kujira Tokiwa and illustrated by Yu-nagi.
The novels have four volumes, with a newer edition being published in Japan in November, 2024 that has been stretched out to five.
Yen Press publishes the novels in English, with the original four volumes already out.
The anime adaptation of the mystery series is being directed by Morita to Jumpei (yep, that’s one person with two names, go figure), with Kenichi Yamashita (Holmes of Kyoto) in charge of scripts and series composition, and Chie Kawaguchi designing the characters.
Ashi Productions (who did a wonderful job animating The Tale of Outcasts) is animating, and Good Smile Film producing.
The Holy Grail of Eris plot
The original Japanese light novel series describes the mystery plot like this:
Connie (aka Constance Grail), the unassuming daughter of a viscount whose only redeeming quality is her honesty, and Scarlett Castiel, the unparalleled villain who was executed 10 years ago for the attempted murder of Princess Cecilia
When these two people who should never have met cross paths at a party, the story about Scarlett’s execution, her set-up, and the ramifications that continue to this day begins to unfold.
What began as a mutual interest between the two eventually grows into true partners bound by a precious bond, as they confront a huge conspiracy that has continued since the past…
A love-hate drama born from the darkness of aristocratic society, a human drama with an ensemble cast, with elements of crime suspense and mystery, and even a hint of romance, it’s packed full!

You will also get a few glimpses of the tragic Lily Orlamunde in there as well.
Update: Another key visual has dropped for The Holy Grail of Eris, and this time it features most of the anime’s cast of characters. Crown princess Cecilia Adelbide also got her own character art.
