Rich Girl Caretaker anime series coming to small screens
The ongoing rom-com light novel series Rich Girl Caretaker:I’m Secretly the Caregiver of the Most Popular Girl in This Rich Kid School, written by Yusaku Sakaishi and illustrated by Sakura Miwabe, is getting an anime adaptation.
That announcement came out this morning via the official X account for Japanese publisher HJ Bunko, along with a cute visual of the rich girl herself, Hinako Konohana.
The publisher also reminded readers light novel Rich Girl Caretaker, Volume 11 hits shelves in Japan tomorrow.
Monogatari Novels has licensed the series for an English-language release, with its first three volumes due to publish on March 3rd, 2026. Pre-orders for the trio are already up on sites like Amazon.
A manga adaptation is also available in Japanese – illustrated by Sorahiko Mizushima — and with four volumes out so far.
And, while Yusaku Sakaishi has several other light novel series out, this one will be the first one to get an anime adaptation. I’ll bet he/she is thrilled.
Meanwhile, nothing more than the Rich Girl Caretaker anime adaptation was announced today, with its main cast, director and staff coming at a later date.
Check back to Baozi Buns regularly, as we’ll be on it as soon as it does. Meanwhile, read on for what you can expect with the Rich Girl Caretaker plot.

The Rich Girl Caretaker story
Rich Girl Caretaker, (aka 才女のお世話 高嶺の花だらけな名門校で、学院一のお嬢様 or Rich Girl Caretaker: I’m Secretly the Caregiver of the Most Popular Girl in This Rich Kid School), had its first volume published back in May, 2021 after first seeing the light of day on a web novel site.
According to the first volume of the original Japanese light novel series, the romantic comedy’s plot goes like this:
After being kidnapped along with rich girl Hinako Konohana, high school boy Tomonari Itsuki becomes the caretaker for the daughter of one of Japan’s most wealthy families.
On the surface, Hinako is beautiful and intelligent, but her true identity is a lazy girl with no ability to live independently. However, due to family circumstances, Hinako has to play the role of the “perfect young lady” at school.
Wanting to protect her, Itsuki diligently takes care of her. Eventually, Hinako begins to rely on Itsuki with all her heart… “Right now… if Itsuki wasn’t by my side, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
A love story that transcends the master-servant relationship with this adorable young lady who has more than a bit of a gap.
All of that is the extent of the information we have about the Rich Girl Caretaker anime adaptation, but more is likely to drop soon.
