The Japanese survival-themed manga series #I’m Looking for Zombie (aka #Zombie Sagashitemasu) is getting an anime adaptation, with the upcoming anime announced by Kadokawa earlier today.
The announcement came via the anime’s just-opened X account along with its first key visual drawn by mangaka Katsuwo-sensei, and featuring all of the manga’s main characters.
The account also commented:
Even in a world full of zombies,” this world is beautiful — A new kind of “zombie × youth comedy” drawn by #Katsuo, the creator of * Mitsuboshi Colors*.
Abbreviated from now on as #ZonMasu.
#I’m Looking for Zombie manga details
#I’m Looking for Zombie will be the third anime adaptation for mangaka Katsuwo after their work was made into the 2018 comedy anime Mitsuboshi Colors, followed by Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu in early 2019.
The manga it is being based on has three volumes out in Japanese, but has not yet been given an English translation.
No information about the upcoming #I’m Looking for Zombie anime series has yet been released. Nor do we have any details about its staff or cast.
But we do know what its plot will entail courtesy of the first volume of the original Japanese manga, which explains it like this:
Thirteen years have passed since the “Red Day,” when 90% of humanity was infected and killed by a mysterious infectious disease.
Aki, who has no memory of the world before the destruction, escapes her village with her good friends Haru and Natsuki in search of her father. The outside world is filled with zombies, zombies, and more zombies everywhere they look!
The five of them take refuge in a hardware store with Yuu and Sakura, whom they rescue along the way. They regroup… and now it’s time to launch a counterattack!
Enjoy the first visual for the anime series, and we’ll be back here on Baozi Buns as soon as more information, other visuals and a trailer drop.
Until then, check out the trailer that was released about the manga itself down below.
