When it comes to upcoming action fantasy anime, few have sparked more interest recently than Tougen Anki, the anime series based on the hit manga from mangaka Yura Urushibara.
And as more character designs, visuals and trailers have dropped, that interest has only climbed.
After today’s haul of Tougen Anki promotional materials featuring some stellar visuals, however, it is safe to say if you aren’t as obsessed with the mythology-laden anime series as I am, you will be after checking out all this.
This, by the way, is a new Tougen Anki trailer, an absolutely epic looking 3rd key visual, and the names of the anime’s main cast along with their characters’ designs.
New Tougen Anki trailer
The latest Tougen Anki trailer kicks off with an explanation of the battles between the Oni who ate humans, and the hero Momotaro, who defeated them.
We then see the new students who will soon be graduating and joining the Momotaro Agency, and we do get a good look at each of them with even the tiny snippets each one gets giving us a heads up into their quirky personalities.
But, of course, Tougen Anki isn’t a fluffy feel-good anime, as we learn quickly when the students’ training sessions turn to a massacre by the Oni, and they have to quickly get serious about becoming stronger, faster and more able to kill.
The latest trailer also features the anime’s opening theme song — ‘Overnight‘ by The Oral Cigarettes — and its ending theme song — ‘What is Justice?‘ by Band-Maid.

The 3rd Tougen Anki key visual is wild
Accompanying the wild trailer is a vibrant and absolutely epic 3rd Tougen Anki key visual featuring protagonist Shiki Ichinose front and center, and backed by every other main character.
All of whom are obviously in the middle of a violent, bloody battle.
New Tougen Anki cast members announced
The anime also had five new cast members named, along with their characters’ design visuals. They are:
- Daisuke Kishio (Junta Teshima in Yowamushi Pedal) voices Tsubakiri Momomiya
- Mariya Ise (Reg in Made in Abyss) plays Yomogi Momokusa
- Tsuyoshi Koyama (Youhei in Grimoire of Zero) as Tsuyoshi Ichinose
- Yasunori Masutani (Ayanokouji-sensei in Classroom of the Elite) voices Samidare Momoya
- Megumi Ogata (Hanako-kun in Toilet-bound Hanako-kun) as Principal
Look out for the first episode of the Pony Canyon-animated Tougen Anki premiering on July 11th.
