New Gachiakuta visual embodies Enjin as we know him
One of the most-anticipated action adventure anime releasing later in 2025 is Gachiakuta; an animated series based on the hugely popular manga series written and illustrated by prolific mangaka Kei Urana.
I say “prolific” as, the manga only began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February, 2022 and, in the just three years since, Kei Urana has already spawned enough material to fill 14 tankōbon volumes and counting.
It is also still being serialized as we speak.
Five of those volumes are already out in English, with Volume 6 heading our way in April via Kodansha USA.
No wonder then that, when the Gachiakuta visual and accompanying short PV hit on the anime’s official X account earlier today, Gachiakuta manga fans like me immediately sat up and took notice.
Because the manga’s incredible art style looks like it is being translated perfectly into the upcoming anime as well.
That latest Gachiakuta visual, by the way, showcases Enjin, one of the Cleaners and the guy who first saved Rudo when he fell into the Abyss.
And, beyond Rudo, probably the manga’s most-loved character.
That’s why, in the newly released visual, isn’t it fabulous to see Enjin looking just as damn cool as we already know he is?
Update: Zanka Nijiku’s character visual also now out and it’s just as epic!
Along with the visual, the anime’s official X account also commented:

A skilled member of the cleanup crew “Akuta,” Enjin discovered Rudo after he was cast into the abyss and recognized his potential as a “Giver”.
Gachiakuta plot and anime production details
The anime adaptation of the Gachiakuta manga series is being directed by Fumihiko Suganuma (Episode Director of The First Slam Dunk film), with series composition by Hiroshi Seko (Wind Breaker and Chainsaw Man), and with those amazing character designs created by Satoshi Ishino (No. 6), who is also acting as Chief Animation Director.
And, yep, it is easy to see why the graphics on this look incredible as Bones Film (the shoot-off from Studio Bones (My Hero Academia) is in charge of animation production.
As for the Gachiakuta plot, the first volume of the original Japanese manga describes the crazy story like this:
In the slums where the descendants of criminals are gathered, Rudo lives a life of discrimination, scraping by as a trash collector.
But one day, he is falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the terrifying abyss known as the “Naraku” (The Abyss). There, he meets Enjin, a “Cleaner,” and catches a glimpse of the world’s hidden truth.
Soon, Rudo awakens an extraordinary ability—the power to give life to objects and draw out their hidden potential. All of this is for the sake of changing this “sh*thole of a world”!!
No matter how oppressive the world may be, he won’t let others dictate his worth.
His enemies? “Common sense,” “authority,” “prejudice, and discrimination.” A storm of ultra-intense battle action begins now—!!
If you are still not sure if Gachiakuta is your thing, just watch its epic trailer and I am 1,000 percent sure you will change your mind.
Then look out for this wild looking fantasy action anime series premiering in July, 2025 because, hell, if this one turns out to be as good as it looks, it could easily become the Shounen anime of 2025.
