The latest Big Firebird Culture donghua The All-devouring Whale: Homecoming (aka Kun Tun Tianxia Zhi Zhang Men Guilai) has a new poster out as the Chinese anime is due to premiere on Bilibili on May 1st.
The latest The All-devouring Whale: Homecoming poster features protagonist Fan Lingxiao (aka Liu Fengmang) and one of his spirit pets — an enormous blue catfish.
The donghua’s latest poster was released on the Big Firebird Culture’s Weibo account this morning, along with a message about the release of the anime, and a hint about its plot:
Adapted from the comic Devouring the World, the animated series The All-devouring Whale: Homecoming, produced by Big Firebird Culture, has released its official PV!
Start with a single Devourer, cultivate by consuming all!
Reborn from adversity, rising to the heavens once more—don’t miss it!
And no, the studio has only released a new poster and not a PV, as even Chinese fans were asking “PV? Where is it? Isn’t this just the poster?”
As for its plot, Bilibili explains it like this:
Fan Lingxiao, the young sect leader of Lingxiao Pavilion, once raised a tiny catfish into a world-devouring spirit beast, becoming a legendary tamer revered across the land.
But at the climactic battle for sect supremacy, his own colossal leviathan turned on him, leading to his tragic downfall.
Now reborn, he returns to his fallen sect—still with that same little catfish in hand.
Sworn to uncover the truth behind his betrayal, expose the conspiracy that destroyed his family, and restore Lingxiao Pavilion to its former glory!
The donghua itself officially premieres on May 1st exclusively on Bilibili, and with new episodes releasing every Thursday at 11:00 am after that.
From Episode 5 onwards, new episodes will be available ahead of time in early access for VIP subscribers, and will then release at a later date for non-subscribers.
