Who plays Reina Aharen in Aharen-san wa Hakarenai? One of Japan’s most successful voice actresses

My favorite anime of the Spring 2022 season so far is Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, the comedy slice of life anime that follows students Aharen and Raido as they settle into their new high school life, and become best friends.
The show is wonderfully written, very funny, and features a lovely art style and superb animation.
The voice acting too is excellent, especially when it comes to the two main characters — Reina Aharen and Matsuboshi Raido.
Reina Aharen,in particular, is one of my favorites as she goes from speaking in a voice only dogs can hear to barely speaking above a whisper much of the time.
Being the voice actress who voices her then must have been quite challenging.
That is why, today, I want to look at the voice actress who plays Reina Aharen in Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, and show just why she is as talented as she is.
Who plays Aharen in Aharen-san wa Hakarenai?
I was thrilled the minute the main cast was announced for Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, as the woman who plays Aharen is one of my favorite voice actresses.
Her name is Inori Minase and, at still only 26-years-old, she already has an extremely successful career as one of Japan’s top voice actors.
I first learned about Minase when I fell in love with the anime series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and, in particular, with the character of Hestia. The quirky goddess who heads the Hestia Familia, and the woman who is in love with protagonist Bell.
I came across Inori Minase again when I watched Gabriel DropOut, and enjoyed the performance of the angel Tap, but really admired her voice work after watching one of my now all-time favorite series Girls’ Last Tour, in which Minase played protagonist Chito.
At that point, Inori Minase became one of my favorite voice actresses to the point that, if she ever appears in an anime, I will always have it as one of my ‘Must Watch’ shows.
Inori Minase’s personal details
The voice actress was born on December 2nd, 1995 as 水瀬 いのり(aka Minase, Inori) in Tokyo, Japan.
She has been voice acting since 2010, although she made up her mind at the age of 6 that she was going to be a voice actress.
Minase also made her debut as a solo singer in 2015, releasing her first single in December of that year.
Inori Minase’s voice acting career
Minase herself began her voice acting career as a teenager, when she played the role of Akari Okamoto in Occult Academy.
At that point, she was still only 14-years-old.
She then went on to voice the characters of Chino Kafū in Is the Order a Rabbit?, Koharu Seto in Your Lie in April, Rem in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, Chizuru Takano in Tsuredure Children, Mari Tamaki in A Place Further than the Universe, Yui Tada in Tada Never Falls in Love, Meteora Österreich in Re:Creators, Itsuki Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Princess Syalis in Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle and Kuroha Shida in Osamake to name just a few of her many roles.
Along with Inori Minase’s voice roles in anime, she has played a slew of successful roles in video games, and sung the opening or ending theme songs for a wide variety of anime series, including A Place Further than the Universe, Girls’ Last Tour, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Is the Order a Rabbit?, Symphogear XV, Isekai Quartet 2, and Somali and the Forest Spirit.
As a professional singer, she has also released three studio albums, with her fourth album, Glow, due out in July.
In other words, Inori Minase is multi-talented and extremely hard-working.
No wonder she is so successful, eh?
