New Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku trailer shows dangers of the underground mahjong world

The upcoming East Fish Studio Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku anime has a new trailer out that shows the dangers of the underground mahjong world Kei, the anime’s protagonist, is currently involved in.
A world populated by ruthless Mahjong players who will happily kill you if things don’t go your way.
The latest Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku trailer also introduces us to Amina, the illegal immigrant Kei is hiding so that she isn’t deported, as well as the rest of the main characters and the voice cast playing them.
The anime is based on the Touhai manga series written and illustrated by Koji Shinasaka, which was published from 2006 to 2011.
Three sequel series were then published from 2011 to 2021.
There are currently 45 volumes comprising the four series although, sadly, all four series have yet to receive an English translation.
Hopefully, that will change with the release of the Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku anime later this year.
Jun Hatori (Too Cute Crisis) is directing the anime series, with Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm ) in charge of series composition, and newbie character designer Sayaka Anezaki designing the characters.
Its plot goes like this:
Not a lot of people know that one of the most talented and ruthless Mahjong players in the city is a young high school boy.
Kei is a teenager of few words, but his observation skills, unwavering will and experience in the game allows him to survive in a world full of powerful, rich and dangerous characters.
Kei is currently hiding a girl named Amina who has entered the country illegally and protecting her from being deported. He spends his days sleeping through class and his nights playing high stakes Mahjong, waiting for when a worthy opponent arrives.
The Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku anime will premiere in October, 2024, with the 25-episode suspense anime scheduled to air until early April, 2025.
