The supernatural adventure anime Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, Season 2 has a new key visual out.
This time it features Holo and Lawrence finally off dry land, on a boat, and taking being traveling merchants to a whole different level.
And, as you’d expect, Holo is doing her best to tease Lawrence.

The Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, Season 2 staff confirmed
Like Season 1, the second season is based on the now-classic Spice and Wolf novels written by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Ju Ayakura.
Along with the cute key visual, some of the main staff for Season 2 of the supernatural anime has also been confirmed.
Last season’s directors, Takeo Takahashi and Hijiri Sanpei, will be co-chief directors this time around, with the directing role being taken over by both Nobuyoshi Nagayama (director of Vampire Dormitory) and Takahiro Majima (director of Episode 11 of Season 1).
Koji Haneda is back as character designer, this time partnering with Rina Sugimoto, while Studio Passione is animating again.
So what are you hoping for with Season 2 of Spice and Wolf?
Me, I’m hoping for a less “muddy” art style, character designs that are more akin to the original series, and a tighter, slightly faster paced script.
More banter between Holo and Lawrence would also be nice.
Not that I didn’t enjoy Season 1, although its 25 episode-length did begin to drag in a couple of the later episodes, but I would love it if there was a bit more actual spice in Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, Season 2, wouldn’t you?
No word yet on an actual premiere date, but hopefully some time in 2026, as it is now over a year since the anime’s first season ended.
The date will be announced here on Baozi Buns as soon as it is revealed.
