Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota Christmas visual does a great job profiling the pair’s personalities
The almost completed first season of rom-com anime Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota has just released a holiday visual, and it’s super cute as it shows Oota-kun giving a Christmas gift to Kashiwada-san, but he’s blushing so furiously he can’t even look at her.
Kashiwada, of course, has the same blank look on her face she always has.
Behind the pair the scenery is decked out for Christmas, including a star-decked Christmas tree.

Interestingly Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota, which is due to release its final episode on December 20th, has not performed particularly well with international viewers.
At least not those rating the drama on My Anime List, where it’s earning a low 6.76 out of 10, or on IMDB with its even lower 6.5 out of 10.
While it’s not the best rom-com I watched in 2025, both Kashiwada and Oota are pretty unique characters, even if Oota has a tendency to be annoyingly loud, and a bit of a bully, their classmates and especially the teacher are hilarious, the art style is sweet and the animation is nicely done.
In other words, the rom-com is perfectly entertaining and fun. If you’re not looking for anything more.
