The fantasy romance anime An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride‘s creditless opening animation has been released via the anime’s official X account and, just like this very cute anime, it starts off by showing Zagan’s extreme awkwardness when it comes to how to deal with Nephy.
After all, when you are so besotted with an elf maid, how is it ever possible to talk to her normally?
Cutely though, the 1-minute-30-second opening animation also gives us a look at how quickly Zagan and Nephy become comfortable with each other, as well as how quickly Nephy makes friends.
Come on, she’s super cute and sweet. Why wouldn’t she!
The just-released An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride‘s creditless opening animation also includes the anime’s opening theme song — ‘Wakaranai Ai‘ by Japanese rock band The Brow Beat – an upbeat catchy song that fits the feel of the anime perfectly.
The cast and staff of An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride anime
The anime itself premiered on April 5th on Crunchyroll, and is based on the light novels of the same name written by Fuminori Teshima and illustrated by Comta.
It stars voice actors Kana Ichinose (Mito in Vampire Dormitory) as Nephilia (Nephy), and Yuusuke Kobayashi (Senkuu in Dr. Stone) as Zagan.
The anime adaptation of the hit novels is directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori (Duel Masters!), with Aya Yoshinaga (scripts for Kingdom, Season 5) in charge of series composition, and Mina Oosawa (Given) designing the characters.
The plot of An Archdemon’s Dilemma?
The plot of the recently premiered fantasy romance anime goes something like this:
When the sorcerer Zagan decides to attend an auction featuring the possessions of the deceased Archdemon Marchosias, he anticipates discovering artifacts of immense power. Artifacts he might be able to use in his own work. Instead, he encounters a rare white-haired slave elf named Nephilia.
Instantly captivated by the striking beauty, Zagan exhausts his entire fortune to procure her, earning suspicion from the auction’s other attendees. Unbeknownst to them, however, Zagan’s investment has nothing to do with his sorcery and everything to do with falling in love at first sight.
Unfortunately for Zagan, who has never been in love before, his social awkwardness impedes his ability to articulate his true sentiments, resulting in numerous misunderstandings between him and his newfound companion.
Despite this, a gradual understanding blossoms between the two almost immediately, and is soon paving the way for love to take root.

If you enjoy a comedy anime with a handsome but awkward protagonist, an utterly lovely elf bride alongside a bevy of other beauties, and a load of genuine laughs, I cannot recommend this one enough.
