Studio 8bit is not animating Season 4 of Laid-Back Camp – hallelujah!
With Season 3 of the girls doing cute things anime Laid-Back Camp being mediocre at best, especially compared to the first two seasons, I can’t say I was particularly excited about the upcoming Season 4, were you?
Especially as it seemed likely studio 8bit, who already partially trashed Season 3 with its low-quality animation, would be back for Season 4.
Well, hallelujah, that apparently isn’t happening as, not only have FuRyu Pictures been named as the studio who will be animating Laid-Back Camp, Season 4 this week, but those awful character designs from Season 3 won’t be back either.
Not if the just released teaser trailer for Season 4, and the cute new visual, are anything to go by.
As, from them alone, it appears the animation is back to the high-quality of the first two seasons, while the character designs are much closer to the first two seasons than the last — a season in which half the main characters didn’t even look like themselves.
A premiere date some time in 2027 was also announced.

Here’s what we know about Laid-Back Camp, Season 4 production details
First, Asaka and Eri Sasaki will be back performing the opening and ending theme songs for Season 4, as will the voice actors for all the main characters. Yay!
Season 3’s Shin Tosaka is also back directing, with series composition again being managed by Masafumi Sugiura, and Ryuta Ura replacing Season 3’s Takanori Hashimoto (thank heavens), and Akiyuki Tateyama returning to compose the soundtrack.
As for animation production, you may be familiar with FuRyu if you buy anime figures as they’ve been releasing them for a number of years.
FuRyu Pictures, however, is their brand-new animation studio, and Season 4 of Laid-Back Camp will be the first series they animate.
They also produced Seasons 1 and 3 of Laid-Back Camp, spin-off Heya Camp, and the full-length film, so they are not unfamiliar with the franchise, which should definitely help.
Until we get more information about the anime’s next season, you can watch the previous three seasons, the film and the spin-off Heya Camp via Crunchyroll.
