Upcoming military-themed anime Romelia War Chronicle has dropped a new teaser trailer although, honestly, there’s not really much to see in it except a quick look at a couple of the characters’ designs, including protagonist Romelia von Graham.
With no other real information except that so far then, just about the only other thing we can tell you is the anime is currently scheduled to premiere some time in 2026.
What is Romelia War Chronicle based on?
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Ryō Ariyama, with its first volume illustrated by Kodama, and the second and subsequent volumes (there are six so far) illustrated by Ryō Kamito.
The series began its life on the Japanese website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, before being bought by publisher Shogakukan.
It currently has around 450,000 units in circulation.
The Romelia War Chronicle light novel series does not, as yet, have an official English translation, but its manga adaptation, with art by Ryō Kamito, will see its Volume 1 arriving in English via Seven Seas Entertainment in January, 2026.
That should drum up even more excitement for its anime adaptation, shouldn’t it?

What is the Romelia War Chronicle plot?
Volume 1 of the Japanese-language light novel series describes the Romelia War Chronicle plot like this:
“Lady Romeria, I hereby break off our engagement.”
Prince Henri declares this right after defeating the Demon King. Standing beside him are Saint Elisabeth, the Sage Ekaterina from the Unreturning Forest, and the Eastern swordswoman Ryo-hime, all of them pointing fingers at her, accusing her of being “useless.”
But they don’t know the truth. Romeria has a miraculous power called “Grace,” which grants her good fortune.
Having lost her fiancé and been abandoned by her allies, Romeria doesn’t falter. There are still demon armies plaguing her homeland, and people enslaved by monsters. She knows she must act to save them.
Facing numerous challenges, Romeria begins her journey. She has no army. There are no healers to treat her wounds. There’s no funding. But she tackles every problem aggressively.
“No army? I’ll threaten a local lord and seize a fortress.”
“No healers? I’ll negotiate with the church to get one.”
“No money? I’ll strike deals with merchants to secure funding.”
“Only new recruits? I’ll have them battle monsters to gain experience.”And now—together with those who swear loyalty to her, Romeria sets out on her mission!
Enjoy the brief details in the Romelia War Chronicle teaser trailer, and I’ll be back with more details about the fantasy anime series here on Baozi Buns as soon as they drop.
