The site was founded by Michelle Topham, a British-American journalist whose many years living in Asia turned a curiosity into a full-blown obsession over Asian animation (you can also check out her own website about Chinese drama, another of her Asian obsessions).
Here at Baozi Buns, we cover everything from seasonal anime and donghua hits to hidden gems, and even take a look at stellar animated series released years ago that you may have missed.
Alongside her is Steven Reynolds, a writer who has spent most of his adult life dissecting and celebrating both Japanese and Chinese animation, while complaining he is never going to have time to watch the more than 250 animated series (and counting!) that he owns on DVD.
Together, we bring you fresh perspectives, honest opinions, and a lifelong love for the art of animated storytelling.
