New scene visuals have been released for the long-awaited Chinese donghua Lord of Mysteries, which is due to premiere on July 7th, 2025.
There are 13 Lord of Mysteries scenes that have come out over the last couple of days via the donghua’s Weibo account.
All are scenes fans of the wildly-popular Cuttlefish That Loves Diving’ novel series will be thrilled to see. Especially just a few weeks before the animated series hits.
Now, let’s see if you think the Lord of Mysteries world looks as you expected it to, eh?

The 13 scenes follow on from three birthday visuals released in March and April — one for Derrick Berg, one for Alger Wilson, and another for Klein Moretti — and a trailer for the upcoming Chinese anime.
The donghua (aka Guimi Zhi Zhu) is being animated by BC May Pictures and, considering what a stunning job they did of animating The King’s Avatar, Mo Dao Zu Shi and A Will Eternal, I would venture a guess Lord of Mysteries will be incredible as well.
It has to be or let’s face it, novel fans — both Chinese and non-Chinese — will never forgive them.

The Lord of Mysteries donghua adaptation has been announced as a Tencent exclusive, with Crunchyroll streaming it internationally.

Check out all 13 visuals in full size via the Chinese animated series’ official Weibo account if you want an even closer look.
