Gun Gale Online 2 gets premiere date – LLENN, Pito and Fukaziroh are back with more firearm fun

It has been six years since the first season of the Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online anime series finished airing, and we now have official news of the premiere date of Season 2.
According to the anime’s official X account, Gun Gale Online, Season 2 will premiere on October 5th, 2024 in Japan.
Along with that announcement we also got a reminder of the Gun Gale Online, Season 2 trailer released three weeks ago that has the kickass trio of LLENN, Pito and Fukaziroh back for more firearm fun in the virtual reality world of Gun Gale Online.

The anime is based on the Sword Art Online spin-off novels written by Keiichi Shigusawa and illustrated by Kohaku Kuroboshi.
It is published in English by Yen Press, with all 13 volumes now out.
The publisher describes its plot like this:
Karen Kohiruimaki is a college student who stands at an imposing six feet. While her complex about her height makes it hard for her to make friends in the real world, the VRMMO Gun Gale Online changes everything.
Now equipped with her ideal “mini” avatar and clad in a pink battle suit, Karen is ready to shoot up the world of GGO as Llenn!
Before long, she meets the beautiful Pitohui, and the two rare female players become fast friends.
Little does Llenn know that this friendship is the key to her entry in the first-ever Squad Jam, a team-based battle royale that echoes the famous Bullet of Bullets tournament…
Gun Gale Online, Season 2 is again being directed by Masayuki Sakoi (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious), with Yousuke Kuroda (Mashle) in charge of series composition, and Yoshio Kozakai back as both character designer and chief animation director.
Studio 3Hz under their new ownership of A-1 Pictures is also back in charge of anime production.
Now, with more than six years having passed since the first season of Gun Gale Online, I’m off to rewatch its first season as, let’s face it, even my anime-obsessed brain can’t remember half of what happened in it.
