You and I Are Polar Opposites English dub releasing January 11th
As the Winter 2026 anime season gets underway, lovers of romantic comedy are in for a treat.
That’s because the You and I Are Polar Opposites rom-com (original Japanese title Seihantaina Kimi to Boku) is not only premiering its Japanese broadcast on January 11th, but it will also receive an English dub on the same day it airs in Japan.
This announcement marks one of the latest expansions in Crunchyroll’s English dub slate for early 2026 and shows how simul-dub efforts continue to grow.
Adapted from Kōcha Agasawa’s popular manga, which ran on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ platform and wrapped up in late 2024, the story centers on the awkward, heart-warming romance between Suzuki, a cheerful girl who lives to make friends and fit in, and Tani, the quiet, straightforward boy who couldn’t be more different from her.
Their contrast drives much of the humor and charm that fans of the manga have come to adore.

Same-day English dub: What to expect
Crunchyroll’s decision to dub You and I Are Polar Opposites concurrently with its Japanese release is part of a broader trend toward simul-dubs, ie: English versions that debut close to, or on, the same day as the original Japanese-language episodes.
This is especially noticeable in the Winter 2026 lineup, which features a record number of series getting early English dubs.
So many, Crunchyroll is currently reporting you can expect English dubs of at least 20 anime series on the same day as their Japanese originals this season.

Crunchyroll’s broader English dub strategy
This simultaneous release strategy that also includes You and I Are Polar Opposites reflects Crunchyroll’s broader push to broaden access to anime in English.
By offering same-day dubs for titles like You and I Are Polar Opposites alongside many other series in the first part of 2026, the platform is catering to English-speaking fans who prefer to watch dubbed anime without also having to suffer long waits.
Some of those anime that will be getting same-day English dubs include:
- A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans (January 11th)
- An Adventurer’s Daily Grind at Age 29 (premiered January 7th)
