Every episode of Season 1 of The Great Ruler donghua is now available on YouTube
iQIYI Animation’s YouTube channel has been doing an excellent job of uploading full seasons of various Chinese anime lately, with many episodes of recent donghau series available to watch in just one video.
A great example of this is Season 1 of the fantasy martial arts donghua The Great Ruler (aka Da Zhu Zai Nian Fan).
That series now has all 52 episodes available to watch. Not only for iQIYI subscribers but also for their YouTube channel’s non-subscribers.
They are also available via just two videos, and with excellent English subtitles.
You will find those videos below, with The Great Ruler, Episodes 1-26 viewable via one 6 hour 40 minute video, while the video for Episodes 27-52 runs for a longer 6 hours and 58 minutes.
The Great Ruler donghua details
The Chinese animated series The Great Ruler is based on the popular novels by fantasy writer Li Hu.
The novel series, which is now complete, features a staggering 1,562 chapters in total.
In other words, there is a lot of material to cover for an animated series. So, now that Season 1 has ended and it was successful, we are all just waiting for a Season 2 to eventually hit.
What is The Great Ruler plot?
The story of The Great Ruler goes something like this:
The story follows Mu Chen, a young and talented cultivator from the Northern Spiritual Realm.
Born into a declining noble family, Mu Chen is determined to restore his family’s honor and become a powerful ruler. He possesses a mysterious and powerful artifact called the “Great Pagoda Art,” which was left to him by his mother, and grants him immense potential.
Along with that potential, however, it also attracts the attention of powerful enemies.
As Mu Chen embarks on his journey, he faces numerous challenges, battles formidable foes, and forms alliances with other talented individuals.
Along the way, he also meets Luo Li, a beautiful and skilled cultivator who becomes his love interest and partner in his quest for power.
The first season of the donghua premiered in June, 2023 and ran until June 7th, 2024 when it ended.
The Great Ruler is nicely animated by Motion Magic (Tiger Crane), and produced by iQIYI and High Energy Studios.
