Tamon’s B-Side trailer shows Utage’s first encounter with Tamon
Male idol-themed series Tamon’s B-Side (aka Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?) has released a new trailer, and announced the anime’s premiere date as January 4th, 2026 in Japan.
The latest Tamon’s B-Side trailer makes this one look incredibly fun as it starts off with part-timer Utage Kinoshita arriving at her new house cleaning job only to discover it’s at the home of Tamon Fukuhara, leader of the idol group F/ACE, and someone whose career Utage has intently followed for a while now.
The problem is, handsome, vibrant and fun Tamon in real life isn’t remotely like he is on stage.
Instead he’s dark, gloomy, depressive and with zero self-confidence.
And now, the young idol singer is in such a depressive hole, he’s threatening to leave F/ACE entirely. Something Utage immediately has to deal with if she is not only able to do her job properly, but also help him and save his career.
Of course, as you’d expect, once Tamon realizes he has someone who is on his side, he becomes clingy and dependent, meaning Utage’s job might be a lot more difficult than she expected.

Tamon’s B-Side trailer intros anime’s main characters
Along with the fun introduction to Utage and Tamon, the new Tamon’s B-Side trailer also introduces the anime’s main characters, the members of idol group F/ACE, and their voice actors. They are:
- Utage Kinoshita voiced by Saori Hayami (Yor in Spy x Family)
- Tamon Fukuhara voiced by Kakeru Hatano (Itsuki in The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity)
- Ouri Sakaguchi voiced by Shouya Chiba (Kiyotaka in Classroom of the Elite)
- Keito Tachibana voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka (Yuzuru in Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms)
- Natsuki Ishibashi voiced by Kouhei Amasaki (Masachika in Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian)
- Rintaro Kai voiced by Ryuuho Nagaoka (Masami in Let’s Go Karaoke!)
Now that’s a roster of stellar voice actors, isn’t it?
Production details for Tamon’s B-Side anime adaptation
The upcoming comedy romance anime is based on the manga by the same name written and illustrated by Yuki Shiwasu.
That manga is being published in English by VIZ Media, with nine volumes already out, and Volume 10 due to hit shelves on January 6th, 2026.
VIZ describes the fun-sounding Tamon’s B-Side plot in this way:
Tamon is an insecure mess in real life, and what’s worse, he’s threatening to quit! Utage refuses to let anyone stand in Tamon’s way—least of all himself. What’s a fangirl to do but roll up her sleeves and support her favorite singer with everything she’s got?
The anime is being directed by Chika Nagaoka (Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Movie: Maji Love Kingdom), with Chiaki Nagai (22/7) in charge of scripts and series composition, and Youko Itou (Amanchu!) designing the characters.
J.C.STAFF (KonoSuba and Toradora!) is animating the series.
Look out for Tamon’s B-Side releasing on January 4th in Japan. There’s no word yet on when or where it will hit in the west but, like most things, likely on Crunchyroll.

As idol-themed anime goes, though, don’t you think this one looks like a hella fun watch? After all, it’s not often we get an idol protagonist who has less self-confidence than my week-old-kitten, and is just about as helpless.
