Latest Tales of Herding Gods wallpaper – Qin Mu’er and the Village Chief head to the Dark Realm

As Tales of the Herding Gods‘ protagonist Qin Mu’er heads off into the Dark Realm with his “grandfather” the Village Chief now that he has manifested into the Sword God (Episode 27), the Chinese donghua’s official Weibo account has released yet another slew of beautiful wallpapers.
The latest Tales of the Herding Gods wallpapers, again released for both desktop and mobile, are of Qin Mu’er and the Village Chief.
Six of the wallpapers are of Qin Mu’er, while 3 are of the Village Chief.
As per usual, a comment from the animation studio Sparkly Key Animation also gives viewers an idea of what these latest wallpapers represent:
The Village Chief’s Sword God manifestation has arrived, leading Mu’er into the forbidden land of the living.
First, they encounter an ancient battlefield of gods and demons, then a realm where the dead live — overturning all notions of life and death. They even meet demons disguised as villagers!
The dark, gothic Chinese aesthetic reaches new heights. Every frame is a wallpaper-worthy masterpiece!
And, yes, just like every week, the donghua’s latest episode is spectacular.
Tales of Herding Gods airs every Sunday at 11:00 AM Beijing time, and streams via Bilibili and on the Made by Bilibili YouTube channel internationally.

Once a donghua that had just 26 episodes of a first season planned, it is now a year-long series, after Sparkly Key announced Episode 27, which has just released this week, will kick off a full year of episodes.
