Himari Azuma’s character trailer shows all sides of the Demon Defense Force member
One of the most important supporting characters of the upcoming anime Chained Soldier just got her official character trailer.
That person is Himari Azuma, the youngest daughter of the powerful, influential and matriarchal Azuma Family (家, Azuma-ka).
Himari was initially a disappointment to her family, who looked down on her as a failure compared to her older sisters, but her hard work and her eventually gaining her own power has proven them wrong.
In the just released Himari Azuma character trailer, Himari is shown as both strong and powerful, while also easily embarrassed as she explains that, when she arrived in the Demon Defense Force she saw that other people struggled too.
It was then she realized the answer to overcoming her problems lay within her, and it was about time she moved forward on her own.
Himari Azuma is being voiced by Yume Miyamoto (Rikka in SSSS. Gridman).
What is the Chained Soldier anime about?
The upcoming anime series is based on the manga series written by Takahiro (Akame ga Kill!) and illustrated by Yohei Takemura.
The manga is being published in English by Yen Press, with five volumes already out and Volume 6 due at the end of January.
Yen Press describes the Chained Soldier plot like this:
Decades ago, gates to an otherworldly and dangerous dimension known as Mato-the “Demon City”-appeared across Japan. Those who partook in the “peaches” growing there gained unique abilities-but only if they’re girls.
When down-in-the-dumps high school boy Yuuki Wakura finds himself caught up in a gate, he’s saved by Kyouka Uzen, the beautiful commander of the 7th squad of the Demon Defense Force, who…orders him to become her slave?!
The Chained Soldier anime based on the manga is being directed by Gorou Kuji (Episode Director of Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement-), under the chief direction of Junji Nishimura (Bakuon!!).
Yasuhiro Nakanishi (My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999) is charge of series composition, and with Hiroyuki Yoshii (Just Because!) in charge of character design.
Seven Arcs (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) is in charge of anime production.
The action fantasy anime is scheduled to premiere on January 4th, 2024.
