Character designs for Rei, Shadow and Insy are just as cool as you’d expect
With about a month and a half to go before A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation premieres in January 2026, the new slice-of-life fantasy anime has just added three more voice actors to their cast.
And their corresponding characters, of course.
And, yep, just like Blue Miburo, this one is pretty man-heavy in its cast of characters, with every character named so far a male, and, yes, I am fully on board with that.
Especially as the anime’s character designs, including the ones just released for the three new characters announced today, look very cool.
The three voice actors added to the A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation cast are also three of the industry’s hardest working, and most successful, and with an enormous number of voice acting roles under their belts so far.
They are:
- Kosuke Toriumi (Mikazuki in Touken Ranbu Kai Kyoden) voices Rei
- Hiroki Yasumoto (King in One Punch Man) plays Shadow
- Kenji Hamada (Teppei in Kuroko’s Basketball) as Insy

Production details for A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation anime adaptation
The anime adaptation is based on the light novels written by Misaki and illustrated by Sando. A series that is so popular in Japan, it currently has 20 volumes out, and 13 volumes of its manga adaptation.
As of yet, the novels have not received an English translation, but the manga is being published by Tokyopop, with 10 volumes out.

The first volume of the Japanese version of the light novel series describes its incredibly chill plot like this:
Lizel, a young man who was active as a prime minister in a fantasy world, is suddenly transported to yet another world. However, using his natural intelligence and eloquence, he makes Gil, a high-ranking adventurer, his partner and brilliantly transforms himself into an adventurer.
Even though he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to return to his original world, he lightly hums to himself, “I’ll just enjoy it as a vacation,” and enjoys life in another world to the fullest.
The leisurely adventure fantasy of an aristocrat in another world begins!
As for the novels’ anime adaptation, it is being directed by Kenta Noda (episode director for Battle Game in 5 Seconds), with Yousuke Suzuki (scriptwriter for Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf) in charge of series composition, and Akito Fujiwara (key animation for The Way of the Househusband) designing those cool characters.
As for animation production, that is being carried out by SynergySP.
As I am a big fan of SynergySP’s Mr. Villain’s Day Off, the currently ongoing A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai, and last year’s A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics, personally I’m looking very forward to this one, aren’t you?
Check out its recently-released trailer as, yeah, lovely and chill.
