With the supernatural, school-themed anime Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Season 2, Part 1 only ending on March 30th this year, it’s great to get today’s news that Part 2 is already scheduled for a July 6, 2025 broadcast premiere.
That premiere was announced via the Toilet-bound Hanako-kun X account earlier today, and will take place on 28 affiliated TBS stations in Japan, followed by arrival on Crunchyroll where its first part is already streaming.
As more information is released closer to its premiere, you will find more updates about the upcoming second part via the anime’s official website.
Production details for Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Season 2, Part 2
The anime series is based on the manga series written by Iro and illustrated by Aida (together aka Aidalro).
That series has been ongoing since 2014, so over a decade, which means it’s not that surprising there are now 24 volumes out in Japanese (including Volume 0), and with Yen Press publishing 22 volumes in English so far.
Volume 22 (the 23rd volume) will drop in the U.S. in July.
Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Season 2 is being directed by Youhei Fukui, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi (No Longer Allowed in Another World) in charge of scripts and series composition, and Mayuka Itou (Fw:Hamatora) designing the characters, while also serving as co-Chief Animation Director with Miho Ichikawa (Classroom of the Elite III).
As for the anime’s plot, the first volume of its original Japanese manga series describes it in this vein:
One of the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Academy is said to exist in the third stall of the girls’ restroom on the third floor of the old school building, and they say that “Hanako-san” will grant any wish of the person who summons her.
In order to grant her own wish, Yashiro Nene surrenders herself to the school’s ghost stories… But, when she is successfully able to summon Hanako-kun, she is shocked to learn he is actually a boy!! And a pretty annoying one at that.
Now we know it’s heading our way, look out for Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Season 2, Part 2 hitting July 6th.
