There’s an incredibly cute new trailer out for There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her that makes the fantasy rom-com anime look hilarious. And sweet.
Especially when it shows demon Youki confessing to Cecilia, the pretty girl in the hero’s party that just came to kill him. And her turning him down, but then recommending he do something else instead.
The trailer also introduces the anime’s main characters and their voice actors, as well as its theme songs – ‘Lavish!!‘ performed by Yoshino as the opening theme song, and ‘Kimi Koryaku Game‘ by Hiyori Omiya for its ED.

What’s the There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party… plot?
While this is another fantasy Isekai anime, it has a slightly different premise as many of them as it follows a contemporary guy who dies in a traffic accident but, instead of being born again in a different world as a hero, this time around he’s a demon.
The anime is based on the light novel written by Suisei and illustrated by La-na, which began publishing in mid-2013, and now has a manga adaptation as well.
Its original Japanese series explains the There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party plot like this:
Youki is reincarnated in another world. However, he is neither a hero nor a demon king, but a demon in a rather awkward position: a subordinate of the demon king.
One day, a party of heroes attacks the demon king’s castle in order to defeat the demon king. Naturally, Youki fights against the heroes. However, he falls in love at first sight with one of the enemy, a priestess named Cecilia.
The fantasy anime series is being animated by Studio Gekkou, who are currently animating the ongoing The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest, and directed by Tomonori Mine (Isekai Onsen Paradise).
The There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her anime adaptation is confirmed for a January 6th, 2026 premiere.
Look out for it if you’re into Isekai anime with cute characters, as this one has more than its fair share.
