The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc announced with visual and trailer

The Irregular at Magic High School franchise has exciting news for its fans!
Following the conclusion of the third season yesterday, an anime film adaptation of the Yotsuba Succession Arc has been officially announced via the anime’s official X account .
Along with the announcement of an upcoming The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc came a new promotional visual and a 15-second teaser trailer. (watch below)
The Yotsuba Succession Arc arc is based on the light novel series’ 16th volume, and will focus on the events surrounding the Yotsuba clan, one of the Ten Master Clans in the series.
Yen Press, who publishes The Irregular at Magic High School light novels, explains that volume’s plot like this:
The invitation has arrived. It is time for the New Year’s Reception at the Yotsuba family residence. This year, Miyuki and other candidates will gather there to decide who will be the next leader of their powerful clan. If chosen as the successor, she would never have to see her brother live as a pariah ever again.
At the same time, such a position surely entails a political marriage, plunging her mind into complete turmoil. Complicating matters, the current head of their family sows doubt with the shocking claim that Miyuki is not Tatsuya’s sister. When the new year comes, their relationship may be changed forever…
Taking that into account the arc, of course, will bring significant developments for the characters, especially Miyuki Shiba, as she navigates the complex politics and challenges of the clan.
That also means fans can look forward to seeing their favorite characters back on screen, with the story continuing from where the third season left off.
Some fans are pointing out, however, that the Yotsuba Succession Arc is an odd choice for a film as the story, unless the plot is substantially changed, does not really lend itself to a standalone film.
The upcoming anime film will again be produced by Eight Bit, the studio behind previous installments of the series, including the first season, The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc, and The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc.
As of now, a release date for The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc has not been announced.
