Earlier today, Chinese animation studio Sparkly Key Animation announced the long-awaited sci-fi donghua film Swallowed Star: Blood Luo Continent (aka Tunshi Xingkong Movie: Xueluo Dalu) will premiere on December 7th, 2024 as 12:00 a.m.
The December 7th premiere came via both the official Sparkly Key Animation Weibo account, and the Swallowed Star account, with an updated trailer for the film also released. (watch below)
From that video, and previous ones released, it definitely appears Swallowed Star: Blood Luo Continent will be a visual and auditory spectacle, showcasing some stunning animation accompanied by highly detailed environments, smooth character movements, and high-energy and incredibly exciting action scenes.
Come on, that epic music alone makes me want to watch it the minute it comes out. Doesn’t it you?
The action adventure will be a Tencent Video exclusive, and is a side story to the ongoing Swallowed Star, Season 4.
Where to read the Swallowed Star novels
The popular ongoing Swallowed Star donghua series, and the upcoming film, are based on the hit novel Tunshi Xingkong, written by Wo Chi Xihong Shi and illustrated by Mo Wen.

Since its popularity began to explode, the Swallowed Star novel has spawned a long-running donghua series that kicked off on November 29th, 2020 with its first episode.
