Taxi Driver 3‘s Friday ratings fall while its Saturday viewership skyrockets
As I predicted yesterday after Taxi Driver 3‘s Friday episode saw a big drop in its ratings, that fall likely would not last for long. Not if the Korean drama’s past history was anything to go by.
And here we are, on Sunday morning, with Taxi Driver 3, Episode 6 ratings skyrocketing back up not only to where they were prior to Friday, but also passing that milestone and earning the Korean drama’s highest rating so far.
According to data via Nielsen Korea, Taxi Driver 3, Episode 6 garnered 12.0 percent of the nationwide rating on Saturday night — up from the 8.9 percent it earned for Episode 5.
That is also an increase of 0.40 percent from the K-drama’s previous all-time high of 11.6 percent that it earned for Episode 4.
The latest episode of Taxi Driver 3 saw a similar ratings rise from audiences in Seoul, with the SBS drama rising to take 12.4 percent of that region’s audience share versus the 9.4 percent it earned for its previous episode.
The K-drama’s Seoul rating, however, wasn’t quite enough for it to earn a new all-time high, as that record is still claimed by Episode 4 and the 12.6 percent of the viewership it grabbed.
Congratulations to the main cast — Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin and Kim Eui Sung — the drama’s director, screenwriter and crew for skyrocketing back up the ratings again, and grabbing a new personal record.
Episode 7 of Taxi Driver 3 airs on December 12th and, it being a Friday, we can probably expect to see falling ratings again. It is what it is, eh? (Update: In a big surprise, Episode 7 actually grabbed the K-drama’s highest Friday ratings for Season 3 so far. Shocker, eh?)
