Our Unwritten Seoul, EP1 airs to solid ratings – especially considering competitor The Haunted Palace

New tvN drama Our Unwritten Seoul premiered last night to solid ratings for a first episode, and especially for one that airs on a night with so much competition, and with a time slot that overlaps the massively popular SBS drama The Haunted Palace.
Data via Nielsen Korea shows Our Unwritten Seoul, Episode 1 earned a reputable 3.62 percent of the nationwide audience on Saturday night, and an even better audience share of 4.19 percent in Seoul (maybe the folks in Seoul liked the nod to their city in the K-drama’s title, eh?)
Its second episode airs tonight and, while the rating of a second episode doesn’t always prove exactly where a K-drama may head from there, it can sometimes give a decent indication.
We will see how it turns out then then, eh?
International ratings for Our Unwritten Seoul
The 12-episode romance drama seems to have got off to a good start with international viewers.
Those who have rated it on My Drama List (MDL) after Episode 1, for instance, are currently giving it a solid 8.1 out of 10, and most comments are positive, ranging from:

This is the second drama in 2025 on mdl which got 8+ rating after the 1st episode, this means it’s gonna be so good.
Our Unwritten Seoul stars Park Bo Young, Park Jin Young, and Ryu Kyung Soo, and airs every Saturday and Sunday evening on tvN, while streaming internationally on Netflix.
The latest data for Netflix viewing will be released officially on Tuesday, so we will see how users of that platform are reacting to the Korean drama so far then.
Update, May 26th: Episode 2 of Our Unwritten Seoul hit last night to even higher ratings — and Our Unwritten Seoul, Episode 12 ends the K-drama’s run with RECORD HIGH ratings as international fans rave about it
