Korean actor Yoo In Soo’s agency Management Koo has announced that the 26-year-old actor has been accepted into the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) in order to fulfill his mandatory military enlistment period.
The actor joining the Air Force — which is officially known as Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) — wasn’t announced until this week, as he had applied several months ago, but had been waiting for a decision on his acceptance.
That decision arrived this week.
Yoo In Soo will begin his enlistment period in November this year.

Interestingly, the Korean actor will likely spend more time in the Air Force than he would have if he had applied to join the Army, Marine Corps or Navy.
This is due to the conscription time being 18 months in the Army and Marine Corps, 20 months in the Navy and 21 months in the Air Force.
In other words, once Yoo In Soo enters the Korean military, we will probably not hear anything more about him until he ends his military service towards the end of 2026.
With his recent career, however, it is highly likely the talented actor will walk back into main roles as soon as his service with the Air Force is over.
After all, he has recently starred in Kdramas like The Midnight Studio, The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch, The Good Bad Mother, as well as had supporting roles in Alchemy of Souls, All of Us are Dead and At a Distance, Spring is Green, and main roles in films Loan Boy and Swallow.
He proved in all of them he has superb acting skills and a phenomenal screen presence, and that means he will be in huge demand once he reappears in general society.
We hope Yoo In Soo enjoys his time in the Korea Air Force, and that he learns many skills that will help his country.
