Season 2 of Saga of Tanya the Evil is actually on its way
If you thought we were never actually going to see the second season of isekai military-themed anime Saga of Tanya the Evil, you’re not alone.
Not since it’s now almost nine years since Season 1 aired, seven years since the movie hit screens, and four years since Saga of Tanya the Evil, Season 2 was announced.
But here we are today — with a Season 2 teaser trailer, a new incredibly vibrant key visual, production staff confirmed, and an actual 2026 premiere date dropping.
Holy hell, right?
And yep, the Saga of Tanya the Evil, Season 2 trailer gives us a nice look at the warped personality of our favorite war criminal, as well as a quick tease into what we can expect in the second season.
Saga of Tanya the Evil, Season 2 key visual shows Tanya von Degurechaff in all her awful glory
Now, personally, it’s been that long since I watched Season 1, I have to admit I will have to do a rewatch to be able to pick up at Season 2, as I have little recollection of its plot.
But it looks like we will all have a few months to do that before Season 2 hits.
Heck, though, the new key visual that has just released has definitely motivated me to do that sooner than later, as it makes Tanya look even more psychotic than I remember.

Along with the visual, the Saga of Tanya the Evil X account also confirmed the return of the wonderful main voice cast.
- Aoi Yuki (Maomao in The Apothecary Diaries) is voicing Tanya
- Saori Hayami (Yor in Spy x Family) plays Viktoriya aka Visha
- Shinichiro Miki (Roy in Fullmetal Alchemist) is Erich
- Tesshou Genda (Director General Shinomiya in Kaiju No 8) voices Kurt
- Hochu Otsuka (Hakurou in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is Hans
And sure, it may just be me, but I’m especially psyched to see Aoi Yuki back as Tanya, as nothing that woman does disappoints, and she killed it in Season 1.
Production details for the second season of Saga of Tanya the Evil
As you’d expect for an anime that has taken this long after its first season to produce, the director for Season 2 has changed, with Takayuki Yukimoto (episode director of Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction) now taking over from Yutaka Uemura.
Kenta Ihara (Blue Miburo) is in charge of series composition and scripts, while Yuji Hosogoe (who was responsible for those gorgeous character designs in Revenger) is both character designer and chief animation director.
Surprisingly, as it’s been so long, Studio Nut is back to animate.
Now that we got such a nice information haul today, look out for more dropping soon as, with this many details, I have a feeling Saga of Tanya the Evil 2 may be dropping earlier in 2026 than later, don’t you?
We’ll keep you updated.
Now, let’s just hope the animation ends up being peak, right? As with this long of a wait, it darn well should be.
