Veteran actor Oh Dal Soo confirmed starring in Squid Game 2 – Here’s what we know so far

Veteran Korean actor Oh Dal Soo has been confirmed to be starring in the upcoming Squid Game 2.
Primarily a film and stage actor rather than someone who appears in many K-dramas, this will only be Oh Sal Soo’s sixth drama and his first Netflix drama.
The actor’s agency C-JeS Studio confirmed his starring role in Squid Game 2 earlier today, but would not divulge any more information.
After all, much of the fun of Squid Game is the surprises that occur throughout the Korean drama, and if many of them were revealed prior to the show streaming on Netflix, it would obviously spoil that.
Squid Game 2
The upcoming second season of the massive hit Netflix drama again stars Lee Jung Jae.
Other cast members include the also-returning Lee Byung Hun and Wi Ha Joon, with new cast members Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, Won Ji An, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, T.O.P, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, and Kang Ae Sim.
Filming for the Korean drama already began last July, and is slated to end next month.
Netflix has already announced Squid Game 2 will premiere on the streaming platform some time in 2024.
The streaming platform describes the upcoming drama’s plot in this way:
Squid Game introduces viewers to a group of contestants desperate enough to risk their lives in a mysterious survival game for the promise of a 45.6 billion won cash prize.
Season 2 will follow hero Seong Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae) as he abandons his plans to go to the United States. Instead, he begins a chase with an important motive.
They also released photos of the K-drama’s main actors during a script reading.
Oh Dal Soo’s previous work
Known as a film actor, Oh Dal Soo recently starred in the movies The Wild, Bear Man, I Want to Know Your Parents, Best Friend and Detective K 3: Secret of the Living Dead.
His older films include Old Boy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Miracle in Cell No. 7, Ode to My Father and The Attorney.
His prior K-drama roles include the dramas Entourage and Big Bet 1 and 2.
The 55-year-old actor began his career as a theater actor in Busan, and is currently the head of a theater group.
