Even with lower ratings for Episode 12, the K-drama’s audience share is still solid for its 12-episode run
While I would have expected the now-ended Undercover High School to finish with higher ratings than it did last night (come on, the comedy action drama was so entertaining, and Seo Kang Joon did a brilliant job in his role), overall the MBC drama performed well throughout its run.
According to data from Nielsen Korea, Undercover High School, Episode 12 ended the K-drama’s run with a 5.8 percent rating both nationwide and in Seoul.
Those ratings are down from its previous episode‘s 6.0 percent and 6.3 percent on Friday night, which yes is disappointing.
However, they do mean the MBC drama earned a very solid average rating of 6.4 percent — both nationwide and in Seoul — for every episode of its run.
International K-drama fans for the win
International viewers, of course, seemed to love Undercover High School more than their South Korean counterparts as, on both My Drama List (MDL) and Viki, the Korean drama is earning very high ratings — (8.5 out of 10 on MDL and 9.7 from Viki subscribers).
Even on MDL, most of the comments after Episode 12 sound like this:
This was such an easy and fun watch; I loved pretty much everything about it. I really recommend it !!
Can’t wait to see more of Jin Ki Joo and Seo Kang Joon in the future.
And shocker of shockers, it is even garnering a solid 8.3 out of 10 on IMDB, where that platform’s always disgruntled users often lowball Korean dramas.
Undercover High School stars Seo Kang Joon, Jin Ki Joo, and Kim Shin Rok (who played a brilliant villain).

Update, April 7th, 2025: And, in additional news, is it any surprise that Undercover High School has just made it to #1 on the Most Buzzworthy Drama list for the sixth week!!??
