The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Cefiro character video shows anime’s striking art style

A new character video is out for the upcoming isekai anime The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human.
This time it is for Cefiro, the Demon Lord’s 7th army corps commander, and protagonist Ike’s direct supervisor. (Ike got his own character video earlier in the month).
She is also a mentor to him.
Shizuka Itou (Torture Tortura in ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess) voices Cefiro.
And, while Cefiro’s character trailer is a little odd, as there is scene after scene of the demon commander’s lips moving but saying nothing — almost as if they’re paying the voice actor per word — her character design, like all of the designs in The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army is incredibly striking.
One of the reasons the anime is up at the top of my list for must sees during the Summer, 2024 anime season.
The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human manga series
The upcoming fantasy anime is based on the hit five-volume light novel series of the same name, written by Ryosuke Haneda and illustrated by Kuma.
A manga spin-off with illustrations by Anajiro also has 10 volumes out.
Neither has, as of yet, been published in English although, with the anime on its way, that may change.
The plot goes something like this:
Maou Army’s strongest magician” I’m called. Ike, a demon capable of capturing a fort alone. Clearing away enemies with immense magic, he is without a doubt a monster awed by friend and foe. However he has a secret he can’t tell other demons. “I, actually I’m human you know.”
Using modern knowledge to keep his secret, he became treated as a great commander and the driving force of the Maou’s army.
The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army staff and cast
The anime is being directed by Norihiko Nagahama (I’ve Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills), with Touko Machida (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!) in charge of scripts, and Masami Sueoka (I’ve Somehow Gotten Stronger…) designing the characters.
Jun Fukuyama (Kraft in Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf) is voicing Ike, with Manaka Iwami (Akane in Oshi no Ko) as Dairokuten Demon Lord (who, like Ike, was reincarnated from Japan, by the way), and Hina Tachibana (Satono Diamond in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby) as Satie.
Studio A-CAT (Battle Game in 5 Seconds) is in charge of anime production.
The anime is scheduled to premiere in July, 2024.
