Half a million reservations 24 hours before the C-drama premieres
Absolutely my most-anticipated Chinese drama of 2026 is the to-be-released-tomorrow series Swords into Ploughshares as, come on, it not only stars Bai Yu, Zhu Ya Wen and Zhou Yu Tong, but its plot sounds epic and its latest stills make the cinematography on this one look utterly beautiful.
Throw in that the full series is a massive 50 episodes, so with plenty of time to develop both the plot and the characters, and Swords into Ploughshares is an absolute must watch for anyone who loves a long, involved Chinese historical drama with a huge number of characters, that will definitely pull you in and make you obsessed.
Apparently, many other people must think that as well as, according to Tencent Video, Swords and Ploughshares has just exceeded 500,000 reservations, right before its first episodes premiere tomorrow, January 23rd.
That 500,000 milestone announcement arrived via Tencent Video’s social media accounts along with a poster celebrating it and a quick comment:
Congratulations to #Swords and Ploughshares# for being the first on the entire network to surpass 500,000 pre-orders! (I’m guessing they mean in 2026?)
With the people at its heart and justice as its foundation, countless households long for peace and prosperity.
The drama is directed by Yang Lei (Three-Body) and Min Guo Hui (Youthful Glory), and stars Bai Yu, Zhou Yu Tong, Zhu Ya Wen, Yu Hao Ming, and Dong Yong, with a superb supporting cast that includes Ni Da Hong, Tian Lei, Wu Hao Chen, Niu Chao, Jiang Kai, Zhang Fan, Xue Jia Ning and Una You.
Enjoy the cool Bai Yu poster, and look out for the C-drama’s first few episodes dropping on Tencent Video and WeTV tomorrow.
Or you can check YouTube, as there will likely be a couple of channels offering it there as well.
And, if they aren’t available in your area, iQIYI and Mango TV also streams them in certain regions.
